Carpinteria State Beach
Glamping for sure!
Rating 4-5 - the reasons this campground doesn't have 5 stars is the midnight train noise and tight camping spots.
But wait! There's so much more... so foremost, hard to beat camping along our coast. Gorgeous weather, plenty of fun beach activities to do with kids and easy to relax with sand in between your toes. Bathrooms are good - hot quarter showers, plenty of spicket water and places to wash dishes. Toilets are in stalls and some buildings have private locking stalls. Town is within walking distance for all grocery, medical and vet needs. And let's not forget to mention shopping, massages, and restaurants. Shoot! You don't even need to sweat camp cooking... some places will deliver to your spot! Done and done.
You can reserve spots online through www.reservecalifornia.com. The spots go crazy fast so know your dates and preferred spots before getting online to see what they have. It won't be available minutes later... Carpinteria is a prime camping location, 30 minutes south of Santa Barbara. Best spots are on the sand (of course) with two loops that offer hook-ups and the other two don't.
Would I go again? YES! I camp at Carpinteria 2 to 3 times a year in my pop-up trailer. It is convenient and close to home, plenty to do and you really don't even need to cook. Sometimes you just need a little beach life.
