Carpinteria State Beach > Beautiful, clean beach. Perfect for kids and water sports. Weather is surprisingly always nice year round. Spots are hard to come by and typically need to be reserved 6 months in advance. This destination is popular, thus lots of people. The town is amazing so you don't need to rely on bringing everything you need – grocery store, restaurants, bars and massages are within walking distance. You can camp either with an RV or tent, various loops to accommodate both. The only down fall... the train does pass right next to campground and can be loud at night when they blow the horn.
Refugio State Beach > A little slice of heaven in a beautiful coastal cove. There's not many sites at this location, so they book up fast (plan 6 months out). The spots are rather large compared to other campgrounds along the coast
